Paul Horrocks

Paul Horrocks has been the editor of the Manchester Evening News since June 1997.  He joined the Manchester Evening News in 1975 as a general news reporter and later became crime correspondent. 

In September 1989 he was appointed news editor was responsible for news investigations and campaigns.  In July 1994 he was promoted to assistant editor and in March 1996 was again promoted to deputy editor.  He is a director of MEN Media which also includes Channel M TV.

He was a member of the Organising Committee for the Commonwealth Games Manchester 2002, was president of the UK Society of Editors for 2006/07.  He is a patron of Francis House Children’s Hospice, a member of the appeals board for Manchester’s new children’s hospital, a director of MIDAS promoting business investment in Manchester and director of Tatton Park Trust.  He was a member of the Press Complaints Commission for four years.
