Damian Pettit, Head of International Banking Service and Operations, UK & Ireland
“The Manchester office is an inspiring place to live and work, which is why we’ve managed to attract quality professionals to come and work with us. Those that have relocated have found improvements in their prospects and quality of life, with reduced commuting times; more disposable income; affordable house prices – all without losing the benefits of being in a stylish city”
In autumn 2013 Damian was appointed as the Head of International Banking Service and Operations . He was previously Head of the EOC Manchester for RBS Markets and International Banking, after relocating from the South-East in 2010 when the new centre was established. Damian has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry having worked for a number of leading companies such as Salomon Brothers, Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank. Damian is now looking to grow his division in Manchester and over the next 18 months there will be some exciting opportunities for people to develop their careers.
Taiana Lees, Derivatives Confirmations Manager
One of the real benefits of living in Manchester is just how close the countryside is but also the city itself has so much to offer. It’s full of so many things to do and great career opportunities for people who want them. Many companies are moving work from London or other parts of the world here into Manchester meaning better career prospects”
Taiana moved up to RBS’ EOC in Spinningfields after joining the graduate scheme in 2007 in London. She spent some time in settlements and moved around the Exotic Interest Rate Derivative Middle Office. Upon moving to Manchester, Taiana helped transition half of the middle office which was moving to the city. Originally from the North, Taiana always hoped to move back and the opportunities that existed as part of the new centre meant there was plenty of scope to develop her career. Taiana moved from heading up the Middle Office to now managing four teams with a total of 40 people.
