MIDAS, in conjunction with the High Commission of India, The Confederation of Indian Industry, Deloitte and UKTI, is hosting ‘Make in India, Innovate with Manchester’ to equip guests with a better understanding of the bilateral trade, export and R&D collaboration opportunities presented by ‘Make in India’. The half day business seminar and networking event, will also explore how the region is strengthening its ties with India and what this means for businesses. India is a critical market for the UK in terms of inward investment, outbound export, education and tourism. Since Prime Minister Modi launched the ‘Make in India’ initiative it is clear that its focus on fostering investment, innovation and building world-class manufacturing infrastructure, presents significant opportunities for Greater Manchester. The region, with its rich heritage in thinking, doing and making, can help India to deliver its plans for economic growth, particularly around R&D, science and innovation. The event will comprise a panel discussion, informative presentations and case studies from businesses who have successfully exported to India and Indian companies who are innovating in Manchester.
