The want for improved transparency and public service reform have been the key drivers of opening up public data. But how can open data inform strategic direction?
Taking this question as a starting point, New Economy and Salford City Council have developed an open data map of Greater Manchester’s physical and social infrastructure.
The map utilises public and private sector data across Greater Manchester to understand the role that infrastructure can play in the development and growth of the city.
This session will explore: the development of the map; how open data can be used to understand the city; and how public sector data can be better utilised for strategic purposes.
Key speakers will include Chris Pope, senior economic analyst, New Economy and Alison Gordon, director of projects, New Economy. This briefing is free to attend but places are limited. If you would like to book a place, please e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
