The Future of Virtual Reality in Sports and Healthcare

2016-05-18T09:30:00+00:00 2016-04-19T13:30:00+00:00 ,

SportsHealthEvent6Recent developments in 3D Virtual and Augmented Reality have stimulated innovation and creativity within both sport and healthcare training and education.

These innovations have the potential to improve athlete’s ability and performance, as well as patient safety and clinical processes. Hands-on, experiential learning in a realistic environment is increasingly required by all accreditation bodies, and is also expected by today’s learners. Almost any physiological model or clinical environment can be created to support the education of healthcare professionals – at any level of training.

These include creating the ability to “fly through the human heart or lungs, and even envisage real patient imagery in 3D” – offering medical trainees and professionals alike, the potential to rehearse surgical procedures prior to the actual operation.

…or in the case of sports professionals, improving reaction times, increasing awareness and peripheral vision are key performance indicators for them. Mobile experiences for fans and rehabilitation for injured players – all this can be designed and created with EON Reality interactive software solutions.

Please come join the conversation and listen to experts discuss these advances in the design and use of Virtual Reality applications within the sports and healthcare sectors.
