Many businesses are increasing their focus on ensuring tax compliance in particular now that more information is known on the introduction of Real Time Information. In addition, many businesses remain focused on trying to motivate and incentivise key employees cost effectively in the current environment.

To help you understand the alternatives, potential strategies and approaches being considered, Deloitte is holding a series of open days where you can sit down with members of the Global Employer Services team to discuss issues pertinent to your business.

You will also be eligible to pick up a ‘Golden Ticket’ entitling you to a further free one hour meeting at which you can discuss the application of these ideas and approaches to your business.

Have you been wondering how to motivate your staff to operate at their most efficient or how to retain your staff by offering a competitive package which is also cost effective?

Given the current economic climate, do you have a clear understanding of all the reward levers you can use to maximise employee engagement and performance?

Are you interested in improving employee retention, or locking in key individuals without an immediate impact on cash flow?

Have you been considering the extent of the changes required to your internal systems to deal with the Real Time Information requirements?

Are you confident that your approach to employer’s duties on pensions has been thought through?

Are you looking to incentivise key employees through equity participation?

Do you understand the true cost and value generated by your incentive plans?

Are you confident your business is adequately reporting short term business visitors to HMRC?

Are you comfortable that you are not overpaying on National Insurance Certificates for inbound or outbound employees.

If any of these questions are ones which resonate with you or you have any other related queries, come and chat with a member of Deloitte’s Global Employer Services team at one of our open days.

The Apprenticeship Breakfast Events will demonstrate how apprenticeships can assist businesses to grow, build a stronger economy, and embed sustainable growth.

Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes designed around the needs of employers, and lead to national recognised qualifications. Apprenticeships are available for employers of all sizes and from all sectors. They are a proven way to train a workforce and can make an organisation more effective, productive and competitive by directly addressing skill gaps.

Manchester City Council, in partnership with the National Apprenticeship Service, The Manchester College, Skills Solutions and Jobcentre Plus, is committed to helping Manchester employers train the skilled workforce they need. We see apprenticeships as a way of achieving this.

The Apprenticeship Breakfast Events will demonstrate how apprenticeships can assist businesses to grow, build a stronger economy, and embed sustainable growth.

A recent Council survey of Manchester businesses revealed that only 17 per cent employ apprentices and 14 per cent were likely to do so in the near future. Research among businesses that do employ apprentices shows that:

→ More than 80 per cent agree they make their workplace more productive.
→ 92 per cent believe that apprenticeships lead to a more motivated and satisfied workforce.
→ 83 per cent rely on their apprenticeship programme to provide the skilled workers they need for the future.
→ One in five is hiring more apprentices to help in the tough economic climate.
