Workshop 1 Understanding Venture Capital and Private Equity
As part of the pro.manchester research into Innovation and Enterprise in the City Region, this workshop in association with future.pro manchester provides an introduction into private equity and venture capital explaining key concepts and some ideas on risk and return.

On the panel will be Jonathan Diggines from Enterprise Ventures Ltd, Doug Stellman from YFM private equity, Gary Tipper from Zeus Private Equity,John Ashcroft CEO of pro.manchester will chair the session.

YFM have recently been appointed as fund managers to £45 million development Capital North West Fund and EV have been appointed as managers to the £30 million Venture Capital Fund. Zeus PE are key players in the Manchester private equity market managing a 100M fund with an investment strategy geared to businesses with an enterprise value of up to £50 million.

The panel will discuss opportunities in Venture Capital and Private Equity in the North West and a basic understanding of key concepts including LBO, MBO, MBI, BIMBO, pre IPO, the VC J curve and more will be explained. Is there a funding gap, the answer if there is one will found during this fascinating session.
