10 June, 2008 – Baker Tilly takes up space in Spinningfields
Accountancy firm Baker Tilly has signed up for 17,000 sq ft on the ninth floor of 3 Hardman Street at Spinningfields.
The company has taken a 15-year lease and has paid £30 per sq ft — a record for the Allied London scheme, which had usually traded at around £28.50. Only 50,000 sq ft of the 390,000 sq ft building now remains available.
“We looked at numerous options in and out of the city centre, but Spinningfields, and in particular 3 Hardman Street, was clearly the best option,” said managing partner Mark Blakemore. “It ensures we remain at the heart of the city’s professional community and within the most accessible location for our staff.
“Moving to 3 Hardman Street clearly communicates our confidence and ambition to be the leading firm in the numerous markets in which we operate.”
Baker Tilly currently employs 130 people in Manchester and is based at Brazenose House, Lincoln Square. It plans to move by the end of the year.
