30 June, 2008 – Co-Operative Bank launches new campaign
The Co-Operative Bank, who's headquarters are based in Manchester, has launched a new integrated advertising campaign aimed at promoting the bank's position as number one on the high street for customer satisfaction.
Produced by full service agency Blacksheep, based in Chester, the campaign features a mix of above and below the line activity including television and press adverts, as well as direct mail, door stops, in-branch décor, in-store radio and internal communications.
A lead element of the campaign is a television ad produced by Manchester based Silver Films. Currently airing on Sky Nationwide, the direct response ad aims to entice new customers to the Co-operative Bank by focusing on the feel good factor of having an ethical bank account. It was filmed in locations around the North West, including the bank’s Balloon Street headquarters in central Manchester.
Silver Films’ Richard Oliver, who directed the TV ad, comments “A number of the leading banks choose to film TV ads in exotic long-haul destinations but, for an ethical organisation such as the Co-operative Bank, it was appropriate to help lower the carbon footprint by filming in the UK. Manchester is where the Bank’s headquarters are based and, as such, it was the obvious location in which to film the ad. Fortunately the rain held off!”
