7 January, 2008 – Code Computerlove appointed as Crown Paints' digital agency
Manchester digital marketing specialists Code Computerlove has been appointed to create an all new consumer website for decorative paint brand Crown and overhaul its digital marketing, following a three way competitive pitch.
The new site will be based around Crown’s brand strategy ‘creating change together’ and will feature exciting new ways to aid the Crown consumer to make colour and product decisions from the comfort of their own home.
Debbie Lynch, Crown Brand Manager, said: "We recognise that the web has an instrumental role in all stages of the consumer’s Paint Journey – from deciding to decorate to recommending Crown to others on completion of their makeover – and that we aim to exploit this to its greater effect.
"We shortlisted three agencies to respond to our brief, which asked for a complete review of our current site. Code’s understanding of our brand strategy and indepth knowledge of customer’s use of the internet was outstanding.
"Coupled with a comprehensive and inspirational new site design they were able to demonstrate a real ability to provide us with new ideas to engage our consumers in the digital space."
Crown’s new site will be launched in March ’08. Debbie added: "New technology and the opportunities it opens, presents a real opportunity for us to re-enforce Crown as a true partner to the consumer for all their decorating needs.
"Our aim is that www.crownpaint.co.uk will be the first port of call for consumers looking for inspiration, colour and decorating advice and that the site and other online marketing plans support the consumer decorating journey from inspiration to instore purchase.
"The web will form a much greater part of our integrated marketing activity, which includes colour cards, press, TV and PR, and our online marketing activity will grow as we develop this communications channel."
Tony Foggett, managing director of Code Computerlove, said: "We have had a relationship with Crown over the past couple of years, but this was a great opportunity for us to demonstrate how a full service digital solution can benefit the brand.
"We really put our heart and soul into creating an industry leading website for Crown that will exceed competitor sites, and used our extensive experience in creating web solutions for FMCGs to provide an exceptionally strong site, both creatively and functionally.
"We’re really excited about creating Crown’s new site, that will be built by Code, and we are looking forward to helping make crownpaint.co.uk the number one destination for consumers looking for decorating advice, colour and colour inspiration."
