12 May, 2008 – Code Computerlove designs site tailored to Irish market
To support its position as Ireland's fastest growing blinds company,
Hillarys has launched a bespoke website tailored to the Irish market.
The site has been produced by Code Computerlove , Hillarys
digital marketing agency of more than three years, who has already
helped the retailer win a number of awards for its digital achievements.
Hillarys’ Online Marketing Manager Susan White explains the rationale
behind the bespoke Irish site. "Ireland is an expanding market for
Hillarys. Our research showed that Irish consumers like to deal with
local brands, so we were keen to ensure our online ‘shop window’ was
tailored to the needs of this market.
"Customers’ buying behavior in Ireland is very different when it comes
to choosing their window coverings. It is important that our proposition
addresses these requirements, and we have also applied many features to
make it relevant to customers in Ireland. The site talks in Euros; it
focuses solely on the Hillarys operation in Ireland, which has been in
existence for 20 years; and introduces Hillarys’ 30 locally based
advisors. Roller blinds are a very popular product in Ireland so these
feature heavily on the site, along with Wooden Venetians which are
growing very quickly in popularity.
"Our digital promotions and timetable have also been tailored to the
Irish market, and it has a slightly different tone of voice and brand
personality compared to .co.uk. Another key feature of the site is the
blog, which allows customers to talk specifically about Irish products
and issues relevant to their area, not via the UK site."
Code Computerlove account director, Steve Peters said: "In addition to
generating consumer sales, the site has been designed to encourage local
people to become Hillarys advisers with functionality that makes it easy
for them to apply."
