11 April, 2008 – Drivers Jonas wins Salford Stadium contract
Drivers Jonas has been appointed by Red City Developments to deliver its new 20,000-capacity City of Salford Stadium and other leisure facilities in Barton.
Work started last month on the 100-acre site, which will be the new home of Salford City Reds Rugby League Football Club, and it should be complete in time for the start of the 2010 Super League season.
Paul Kinsella, partner at Drivers Jonas, said: "This is a fantastic instruction from Red City Developments. Drivers Jonas is very excited to be delivering this first class stadium.”
Also working on the new stadium is Manchester-based AFL Architects, which worked on Old Trafford and the 2002 Commonwealth Games Stadium in Manchester.
Civil engineering works are due to start later this summer and the stadium will be operational in the first quarter of 2010.
