GMPVF appoints Argent as recommended development partner for Elisabeth House

24 January, 2008 – GMPVF appoints Argent as recommended development partner for Elisabeth House

Following a lengthy selection procedure , the Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund (GMPVF) held final interviews with Argent and Miller Developments and selected Argent as their recommended development partner to take forward this landmark building.

Following the March meeting of the Fund, where the Panel will be asked to accept the recommendation, the next stage would be to move forwards with detailed planning, liaising closely with Manchester City Council.

;Nicholas Whipp of GVA Grimley, the advisers to GMPVF commented: "This will be a landmark decision for the core of Manchester and is another sign of the vital regeneration of the central area.

;
"Subject to planning, a building in excess of 350,000 sq ft could be located on the site, giving floorplates upwards of 25,000 sq ft in what is now regarded as the prime core of the City.

;
"The building will fall in with regeneration of the Square and the important Civic buildings of the Town Hall and Library.

;
"The Fund recognised the very high level of commitment from the shortlisted parties which underlines the importance and quality of this proposed development. It is envisaged that the building will be available by 2011."

;
The Fund has recently been busy and can confirm completing the sale of the Deva Centre for a price in excess of £20 million and that they have commenced development of Kings Point in Oldham, a 35,000 sq ft prime office building located in the town which will be completed in 2009.

;
The Fund continues to look at opportunities throughout the North West which fit it criteria for direct development.
