1 April, 2008 – Last Chance to Boost Your Business….for Free
The clock's ticking on a free offer of profit-boosting help and hands-on support for manufacturers in Greater Manchester.
Already many local manufacturers have increased profitability, customer satisfaction and competitiveness thanks to the Euro-funded Productivity Programme to improve business performance.
But the deadline for new applicants is 31 May 2008.
Designed for small and medium companies with fewer than 250 employees in the food and drink, textiles and engineering sectors across Greater Manchester, the programme is funded by Business Support Solutions and delivered by The Manufacturing Institute.
It offers practical support by industry people with years of real-life manufacturing experience in making operational improvements. Under the programme, experts spend a day on site with a firm’s managers and staff to pinpoint areas where money can be saved or productivity increased, to boost profits and improve customer service.
For companies that want to grow their business, launch new products or move into new markets, funding may be provided for an industry specialist to spend additional days on site helping to implement efficiency improvement projects, new process and product development or supplier management and development.
Results are dramatic: manufacturers can increase productivity by an average of 27 per cent, cut waste by almost as much, and greatly improved the use of space in their factories.
One satisfied customer is Walter Groom, operations manager at Faith Products, Radcliffe. He said: “This programme has provided significant improvements to our efficiencies and cost savings across the business. With everyone involved in the initiative, everyone is accountable for the actions. This is a very worthwhile exercise.”
