7 April, 2008 – Salford Council launches new tourism website
The in-house team at Salford council has designed and launched a dedicated website to promote the city’s perceived growing tourism offering.
The colourways on the site reflect Salford’s magenta brand but creators said that site’s colours will also reflect the seasons hence the current the falling snowflakes and daffodils.
The website was project managed by Salford’s tourism marketing team which worked with the in-house web department on the design and build of the site. The team is also collaborating with third party tourism sites websites including Marketing Manchester and EnglandNet.
Lindsey Hebden, the council’s tourism marketing manager said: “People have misconceptions about what Salford has to offer as a tourism destination, so we thought it was important to have a website that gave a varied flavour of what people can see and do.
“The structure of the site is very simple, so it is extremely easy for people to find out in a short space of time where they might want to go in Salford for a particular day out. It will also regularly showcase different highlight places or events for people to choose from on the homepage.”
