To mark the 10 years since its launch, transmedia production company and consultancy, Athena Media, has expanded from its Dublin base to open its first UK office at The Greenhouse in MediaCityUK.
This independent award-winning company that produces audio, video and digital publishing solutions including websites, audio books and mobile applications plans its MediaCityUK office to be a key collaborative base and to ultimately rival the output of its Dublin office.
Already the business has forged a collaboration with fellow Greenhouse tenant Audio Always publishing its first audiobook The Summit read by author and Everest mountaineer Pat Falvey due be released by Audible and iTunes shortly.
Founder and Managing Director of Athena Media, Helen Shaw, said: “Part of our strategy around opening an office at MediaCityUK is to grow our audiobook production business and target the significant UK publishing market, which is moving into audiobooks. Our collaboration with Audio Always has been one of the first outcomes to come out of our move here and we’re delighted.”

Following Athena Media’s move to the creative and digital hub it has also been announced that they have been shortlisted for four radio projects in the prestigious New York Radio Festival for; Herosongs, Citizens: Lockout 1913, Science is Everywhere and for the Barry McGovern narration of Joyce’s The Dead. The company is the first Irish/UK independent to have four different projects across three broadcast outputs shortlisted.
