The Northwest Regional Development Agency’s (NWDA) Grant for Business Investment (GBI) programme has awarded £100,000 to Aerotech Design Consultants Ltd.
Based in Manchester, Aerotech Design is a specialist design consultancy, offering varied technical services to the aerospace engineering and manufacture sector.
With GBI assistance, Aerotech will be able to acquire a new laser tracking system to support design contract work and enable accurate assessment of tolerances that are increasingly being required to demonstrate component conformance with design parameters.
A team of highly skilled engineers will be deployed with the equipment, acting as a sales tool to attract additional design business. The project will create 10 new full time jobs.
The enhanced service will represent a complete new branch of the business. No other design company within England’s Northwest is able to offer this service. By providing a unique service, Aerotech Design will strengthen the region’s aerospace reputation, creating a positive impact on the region.
Mark Hughes, Executive Director of Economic Development at the NWDA said: “England’s Northwest is the largest single centre of aerospace manufacturing in the UK and a leading centre of excellence in Europe. With its GBI award, Aerotech Design will be able to achieve stronger links with national and international customers through their enhanced service levels that will benefit the industry and region as a whole.”
Graham Whiteman at Aerotech Design Consultants Ltd said: “This investment into state of the art technology is part of Aerotech Design Consultant’s strategy to provide high end technological solutions to our customers and fits with our company’s development both now and in the future.”
Grants for Business Investment (GBI) provide help for investment projects which will increase productivity, skills and employment in the region.
