A new deal has been signed between Peel Leisure and the InterContinental Hotels Group to build a new hotel on the MediaCityUK site in Manchester.
Opening under the Holiday Inn brand, the building will have over 200 rooms and is due to start operating next autumn.
It will house a range of additional facilities, including a bar, restaurant, gym and meeting rooms.
The MediaCityUK site covers more than 36 acres of land in its first phase and will be home to a number of companies in the creative and digital sector.
From 2011, the BBC will move almost 2,500 workers, many of whom are currently based in London, to the northwest site.
Bryan Gray, chairman of MediaCityUK developer Peel Media, said: “We’re creating a true city environment here at Salford Quays and the Holiday Inn will be an important part of the wider MediaCityUK community.”
The announcement comes after the BBC was handed the keys to the first of its three new buildings on the site.
