Its move to One Central Park is its first office in the UK, which will provide a sales and marketing function as well as first line support for the UK customer base. The company will grow its UK customer base over the next 12 months through expanding its sales, pre-sales and technical support teams.
The NWDA has been working with the company to secure its move into the Northwest and support the establishment of its UK office, providing advice and guidance and ensuring it has access to the appropriate business support.
Mark Hughes, NWDA Executive Director of Economic Development, said: “Foreign Direct Investment is a crucial economy driver for the Northwest. Last year, the region secured 176 investment projects, creating or safeguarding over 11,000 jobs, and we are working hard with our partners to build upon these high investment figures and secure further successes for the region.
The Agency’s business expertise is a valuable resource for companies looking to locate and invest here and we have worked closely with FIS to support their move into the region. I am pleased to welcome the opening of their new office at One Central Park, which will provide an ideal base for the company to grow and develop its UK operations.”
Gert Lang, Managing Director of FIS, said: “The NWDA assisted our organisation’s growth within the UK by providing FIS with a tour of potential sites for our UK base. It was important that we worked with an experienced organisation to assist us with our business operations in the UK. It was also important to us that the NWDA had the extensive knowledge regarding the legal and governmental issues involved in setting up a company within the UK.”
