City region’s status as the UK’s leading regional outsourcing centre secures event for fourth consecutive year.
Manchester’s status as one of the fastest growing outsourcing centres in the UK has once again seen it chosen as the venue for the National Outsourcing Association’s (NOA) only event outside of London this year.
On Wednesday 24th June 2009, the Malmaison Piccadilly hotel will host this year’s one-day conference which will focus on how outsourcers can provide excellent customer service experience.
The high-profile event has been organised by MIDAS, Manchester’s investment agency, in collaboration with the NOA, and is the fourth consecutive year in which Manchester has been selected as the sole location outside of the capital for the prestigious NOA gathering.
The event is a platform for leading figures from the outsourcing sector to share best practice and discuss current trends and developments. It will be chaired by NOA Board member and Vice-President Sourcing Practice Gartner Consulting, Adrian Quayle.
Adrian said: “Manchester is aspiring to become a UK outsourcing centre of excellence for customer service. We are once again pleased to host our annual regional event in Manchester and are looking forward to hearing from some of the Region’s true success stories.”
Speakers for the event include Gary Clapham, Head of Delivery & Account Management for Co-operative Financial Services, who will deliver a presentation to delegates about its outsourcing contract with Capita. Together the businesses were winners of the Business Process Outsourcing Project of the Year at the 2008 NOA Awards.
Outsourcing expert Ventura will also deliver a presentation on customer experience, and one of the fastest growing companies in the North West, payroll provider Parasol, will discuss its rapid growth over the past 12 months.
Colin Sinclair, chief executive of MIDAS, Manchester’s investment agency, said: “MIDAS’ specialist outsourcing team has worked incredibly hard to again secure the regional NOA event for Greater Manchester. This success reflects the significant growth the outsourcing sector has experienced in the last few years, and we are looking forward to showcasing our city region to delegates from across the country.”
Greater Manchester is home to a number of leading international outsourcers including Steria and Fujitsu. The city region’s offering benefits from a large skilled workforce, excellent transport links, and varying sizes of available office space.
The NOA event is free to attend and will start at 1pm on June 24th. For more information please contact Caroline Cain at MIDAS on 0161 877 3000.
