The British Council has recognised InternChina, the provider of work placements in China, as one of the approved suppliers of its ‘Generation UK’ initiative. Aimed at encouraging young people from the UK to gain international experience in China, the ‘Generation UK’ initiative provides funding for placements across a variety of sectors in varies locations across China.
InternChina creates opportunities for people to gain an insight into the Chinese business world. Since 2007, the company has offered over 1000 students from all over the world to experience the ‘real China’ in the second tier cities of Qingdao, Chengdu and Zhuai.
In 2013, InternChina opened their centre for its European operations in Manchester, strengthening its links with Greater Manchester’s higher educational bodies. Students from the University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Salford have interned at companies through InternChina, and many are already reaping the rewards.
Former Intern and Manchester Metropolitan University student Joseph Fry said “it would have taken three years to accumulate the professional experience in the UK which I was able to accrue within 3 months in China”
