Harvey Nash, the global professional recruitment and IT outsourcing group, today announced the extension of its UK office network by opening a dedicated recruiting hub in Manchester.
The new office launched in response to increasing demand in the region for technology experts. Recent economic trends for the North West of England have been positive and the emergence of a rapidly expanding technology sector in the area, including many web start-ups, has improved the employment landscape.
Jonathan Potter, Operations Manager for the new Harvey Nash office said:
“With organisations such as the BBC relocating a number of key departments to Salford Quays, and many other creative digital roles being created – by companies both large and small – it is a great time to be expanding into Manchester and the North West. We are confident that the skilled IT talent exists here to support our fast growing clients and we have already hosted a major CIO summit in the city to discuss the opportunities ahead.”
Harvey Nash is already retained to support a number of high profile brands with technology operations in the North West including The Co-operative Group, Yodel and Electricity North West. In addition, Adam Gerrard, Chief Technical Officer at The LateRooms Group, another Harvey Nash client based in the region, said:
“I’m delighted to welcome Harvey Nash to Manchester where their expertise will directly support the continued growth plans of LateRooms.com and the wider LateRooms Group. I believe Harvey Nash will contribute to the creativity and energy that already exists within the business community here.”
Angie Robinson, Chief Executive of MIDAS, Manchester’s inward investment agency, said:
“We’re delighted that Harvey Nash is bringing its expertise in recruitment and IT to a new base in Manchester. Their presence is an important addition to Manchester’s ongoing development as a major European digital hub. Harvey Nash has strong relationships with an extensive database of clients in IT, software and technology – many of which now have a direct route to Manchester’s exceptional talent pool.”
Manchester is added to the Harvey Nash Group’s current UK and Ireland operations in London, Birmingham, Leeds, Edinburgh, Dublin, Surrey and a recently opened office in the City of London, Broadgate.
