Mansell Finishes, the North West’s largest drylining and plastering contractor have relocated their off-site pre-fabrication facility to Hyde in Manchester, enabling the business to cater for their fast-growing SFS and render division.
The bespoke factory space is an extended version of Mansell Finishes’ original site, built to cater for the added capacity now needed to fulfil client requests in this area. This expansion has led to the need for a number of new jobs, with on-site employees working on the fabrication of wall panels from lightweight cold rolled steel sections, which are then ready to deliver to site and crane into place. This innovative build solution is proving a popular option on modern construction projects, due to the shortened build time they offer, and the flexibility they provide in working around site limitations.
The established contractor is looking to pave the way in the marketplace for a new, full-service approach for clients, with the current portfolio including hotels, student accommodation and care homes.
The new pre-fabrication facility delivers the extra room and staff needed to satisfy for the growing demand for both the manufacture and the installation of pre-fabricated wall panels, while the other areas of Mansell Finishes’ business includes providing complete superstructures on site, installing roofs, and supplying drylining and finishes.
Angela Mansell, Operations Director at Mansell Finishes said, “The brand new pre-fabrication facility is much nearer to our head office in Cheadle, so it’s been fantastic to watch it all come together. Our vision is very much based on providing a complete solution for clients because we know that this ultimately makes things easier for them, by cutting out the need for multiple contractors on one build. These extended new facilities give us an extra boost to do that, and it’s given us the scope to offer a number of new jobs in the marketplace, so we’re absolutely thrilled with that, and from the feedback from clients already.”
