Over 800 key individuals from leading businesses across the globe have already joined as members of Manchester Business Club.
MIDAS, Manchester’s Investment and Development Agency, and Manchester Airport launched the Manchester Business Club as part of a continued drive to build links between Manchester and leading global city economies.
Since the initial launch event in Singapore at the end of 2009, Manchester Business Club has gone from strength-to-strength, launching in Kuala Lumpur and New York, with a further launch in Mumbai planned for this year. Following these high profile events, scores of businesses have been keen to sign up to become a part of this exclusive free-to-join, invitation only, networking club. Members are also entitled to a host of benefits at Manchester Airport, including access to the Escape lounges, fast track security and discounted car parking. MIDAS also provides a new soft landing service – Hello Manchester – offering new investor’s free office for 12 months.
Earlier this summer, MIDAS and Manchester Airport representatives joined business leaders in the US for the New York launch event. The event was a huge success with 60 new members signing up to join Manchester Business Club including individuals from Google, IBM, American Airlines, Continental Airlines and Goldman Sachs.
Singapore has since seen the first of a series of sector specific events due to take place over the next 12 months. Creative industry insiders gathered for a Manchester Business Club Media Seminar at the Conrad Centennial hotel. We were delighted to welcome Kenneth Tan, COO and Director (Film, Animation and Publishing) at the Media Development Authority of Singapore, as the key note speaker as well as a number of key figures from the creative sector in Singapore and Manchester.
Manchester Business Club will also be hosting its inaugural UK event on October 6 2010. This exciting event will be held at Old Trafford, home of Manchester United FC and will give existing members the opportunity to network as well as welcome new faces to the Club. Guests will also have the chance to hear from MIDAS’ new Chief Executive, Angie Robinson and newly-appointed Managing Director for Manchester Airport, Andrew Harrison. There will also be a special appearance from home-grown talent, the legendary former Manchester United player and coach, Wilf McGuinness.
