This November, MIDAS will be promoting Greater Manchester’s ICT credentials at TechWorld 2011, an international technology event for global businesses, taking place at London’s Docklands.
The event aims to unlock global technology business into UK markets. For MIDAS, this means the opportunity to network with representatives from over 400 international investors.
Techworld 2011 is hosted by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and will focus on bringing the best international opportunities and market-leading innovations to UK organisations and entrepreneurs.
The two-day schedule will include face-to-face business meetings, exhibitions, awards and workshop programmes as well as a chance for SMEs to present their technologies and ideas to potential global investors.
UKTI anticipates that some 3,000 meetings will take place between UK organisations and international decision makers at the venue – equating to 250 meetings every hour.
Tim Newns, chief executive of MIDAS, said: “TechWorld is a perfect opportunity for MIDAS to showcase Greater Manchester to an international audience in a key sector. Connectivity and digital innovation is crucial to nearly every business in today’s market. In particular, Manchester is experiencing a rebirth in its ICT, creative and digital sectors, with developments such as MediaCityUK and the Sharp Project leading the way.
“Our presence at Techworld is part of MIDAS’ continuing sector-based international business development and promotion activity ensuring the city is well represented to technology specialists from around the world.
MIDAS will be on stand number 128. Businesses that wish to meet with MIDAS are invited to email Hannah Lucas, business development manager – firstname.lastname@example.org – prior to the event, to set up a one-to-one meeting.
