The new professional qualification for barristers has been launched by Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) School of Law.
The Bar Professional Training Course has been developed after an extensive investigation and consultation exercise into the needs of the profession, carried out by Derek Wood QC.
It supercedes the bar vocational course (BVC) and can be studied full-time or part-time.
MMU School of Law is currently the only approved provider in Manchester.
Senior lecturer Joanne Lewthwaite said: “The teaching team at MMU have had 10 years of experience of successfully delivering the BVC and is looking forward to be delivering the new BPTC.”
