TEDx will return to Oldham this February with speakers ranging from astrophysicists to digital and video games experts.
The event will take place on Saturday 27 February in the performance space in Oldham Library and Lifelong Learning Centre, starting at 10:30am and ending at 4:30pm.
A number of speakers, who have a unique story or an unusual perspective and who can convey it in a dynamic way, have already been approached and these include space scientist, Prof Monica Grady; Jodrell Bank’s Prof Tim O’Brien; video games journalist and senior video producer, Johnny Chiodini; Reason Digital’s Rebecca Rae; and Hack Oldham’s Andy Powell.
The event, which will be a place for communities to come together, will put Oldham on the map as a forward thinking borough with fresh ideas.
TED is a non-profit internationally known brand that started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: technology, entertainment and design. Since then its scope has become ever broader.
