Greater Manchester Academic Health Science Network (GM AHSN) is a collaborative network of Greater Manchester, East Lancashire and East Cheshire NHS organisations, higher education institutes and industry. It is the only body that connect NHS and academic organizations, local authorities, the third sector and industry, acting as a catalyst to create the right conditions to facilitate change across whole health and social care economies, with a clear focus on improving outcomes for patients.
Key areas of focus are:
- To create an informatics capability that integrates health and social care to facilitate self-management; care planning and delivery, commissioning; research and economic growth. This has been captured in our “Datawell” programme
- To support our region’s ambition to be the “come to” place for inward investment and to grow your business
- To improve the outcomes for patients with cardiovascular disease or who are at risk of it
- To improve medication safety and optimisation
