Strategic Rationale
Location is a key brownfield site in the town centre and is a key area of the Strategic Regeneration Framework (SRF) published by Wigan Council in 2019. The proposal addresses the unique social, economic and environmental challenges for a key Wigan Town Centre site. The site will be redeveloped to align with a number of national and regional policy objectives. Wigan Town Centre is strategically located between Manchester City Centre, Liverpool and Lancashire.
