Strategic Rationale
Stockport is a core and well placed part of the Greater Manchester conurbation, with links to the rest of GM, east of the Pennines, Birmingham, and London. The town has recently undergone a huge renaissance, with projects like Stockport Exchange at the heart. Despite this growth Stockport town centre remains an affordable option in comparison to Manchester City Centre and North Cheshire, contributing to strong demand and growth potential.
The creation of Stockport Exchange has already supported the wider regeneration of the town including:
- increase of rents
- occupiers including national businesses Music Magpie, BASF, Stagecoach, Holiday Inn Express and Hurst Accountants
- job creation for local residents
- boosting Stockport’s attractiveness as a place to live, work and visit
Market Overview
The creation of Stockport Exchange has supported a doubling of rents in less than ten years, with national occupiers taking space in the development. This has been vital to the towns growth potential and positions Stockport Town Centre as a first-class business destination with great national connectivity.
Development Timeline
