The India COVID crisis: We need your urgent support

  1. India’s death toll from the country’s second wave of COVID has now passed 200,000 and as the virus continues to surge with 1000s of deaths and new infections being reported each day we need to act fast to support their healthcare systems which are collapsing.

    The country is suffering critical oxygen shortages and MIDAS and the Manchester India Partnership urge any businesses within the Greater Manchester area who could donate oxygen equipment to get in touch as soon as possible at . Below is a summary of the critical equipment required. You can see the full list by scrolling to the bottom of this document. This document also includes a notification from the Indian Government which has announced the withdrawal of all import duty on oxygen-related equipment.

    Essential Oxygen equipment and supplies

    • Empty, refillable Oxygen cylinders with 10 litres and 45 litres LMO capacity 

    • Oxygen concentrators

    • In situ Oxygen manufacturing plants for hospitals

    • REMDESIVIR - Remdesivir is a type of drug used for treating the SARS-CoV-2 virus in hospitalised adults.
