The proposed Ashton & Stalybridge Gateway MDC will become a national exemplar for transport-led regeneration. The mixed-use scheme will act as a step change for the region, driving forward economic growth to provide: - High density residential opportunities - Retail opportunities - Commercial development with a focus on advanced manufacturing and digital - New multi storey car park to release surface car park for residential. The scheme is supported by further opportunities at Ashton Moss for c100,000 sqm industrial space focused on Advanced Manufacturing and scope for decarbonisation and additional employment development at the Tame Valley Corridor.

Lead Sponsor

Ashton and Stalybridge Gateway project is being led by Tameside Council who will oversee planning and delivery with substantial land ownership. Other major land owners include the Greater Manchester Pension Fund and Greater Manchester Fire Rescue Service. Delivery partners include GMCA, TfGM, Homes England, Environment Agency and Canals and River Trust. Local residents, communities and business owners will be key in shaping the design and priorities.
