Greater Manchester turns blue in support of NHS

3 April 2020

Categories: Latest News

To honour our NHS and all key workers, landmarks and buildings across Greater Manchester continue to #LightItBlue on Thursday evenings.

Iconic buildings across Manchester, including Manchester Central, NOMA, Mayfield Depot and MediaCityUK, have all illuminated blue, alongside countless more around the region and the rest of the UK – with some remaining blue indefinitely to recognise the work of frontline workers during these unprecedented times.

This strong sense of community spirit will continue as part of the national salute to Clap for Key Workers taking place on Thursday nights at 8pm. Greater Manchester residents will join hundreds of thousands of people across the UK standing on their doorsteps, on their balconies, in their gardens or from windows to clap, cheer, and show their appreciation.
