Since setting up its UK and Ireland headquarters in Trafford Park in 2019, Sampa Automotive has already recruited 22 staff including a team of data, finance and sales specialists.

The manufacturing company - originally established in Turkey - has also developed over 1000 new products for the UK market and increased their sales by 100% since they first started trading in February 2020.

Sampa chose Manchester as its UK headquarters due to the region’s prime and central location, enabling them to easily access new and existing partners in the North and South. This coupled with access to quality talent, the supply chain and aftermarket has really helped to propel the company into new areas of growth.

Based on Sampa’s success here in Manchester, the business has now also expanded its operations in Europe with new warehouses in both Madrid and Lyon and is also considering expanding further within the UK.

With plans to continue growing the Manchester team further over the next five years, building on their engineering expertise, Sampa is also in conversations with other Manchester-based advanced manufacturing and advanced materials firms to develop partnerships and innovate its product offering. In particular the team is exploring the use of Graphene - first isolated here in Manchester - which is already being used in the company’s recently developed rubber formulations.

Kemal Kahraman, UK Managing Director, said:

“ Establishing a presence in Manchester as our UK headquarters has been a real advantage for Sampa Automotive and we have experienced brilliant growth since inception in 2019 - even in the face of a pandemic. We have recruited an exceptional team at our base in Trafford Park and now have upwards of 22 staff - 50% more than we originally forecast. We are really looking forward to growing and expanding further over the next five years.”

“ Our success over the last couple of years is attributed to our progressive and innovative mindset – we are not afraid to take risks even during Covid. It’s this ethos which is also fundamental to Manchester’s business and academic community and a key driver behind why our business is able to flourish here.”
