Nexperia, the expert in discrete and MOSFET components and analog & logic ICs, recently hosted a celebratory awards evening to recognise the talent and achievements amongst its UK-based apprentice community.

The first-phase of the 60-strong class of 2019 recently completed their 12-month apprenticeship programme to each receive nationally-recognised qualifications including City & Guilds level 2 Certificate in Manufacturing Practices, and Diplomas in Performing Manufacturing Operations.  The completion of their apprenticeship also marks the opportunity to further their career with full-time employment at the company.

Awards were also presented to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional performance and commitment during their apprenticeship.

The global manufacturer, based at the Pepper Road site since the early 70’s, has a long legacy of specialised manufacturing, previously under the ownership of Mullards, Philips, and more recently NXP, and produces components used in the automotive industry, portable devices such as smart phones, industrial and consumer electronics, and communications infrastructure.

Comments Jeremy Morris, site manager at Nexperia Manchester, said:

“Our apprenticeship scheme launched in 2018 with the intention of both developing our workforce and providing job opportunities for young people in the local community.

We work in a fast-paced hi-tech market, and employee opportunities and development is in direct line with the success of our business.  The continued success of our apprenticeship scheme allows us to expand our workforce with new talent to support the growing demand for our market-leading products."

The Nexperia apprenticeship scheme continues to run throughout 2019, in addition to wider recruitment opportunities at the site. For more information visit www.nexperia.com/manchester
