As the year of the Dog comes to an end and China starts to ring in the year of the Pig, it presents a moment to reflect on the year’s developments, where Manchester has worked tirelessly to further its strong relationship with China.

Over this past year, Greater Manchester has welcomed over 40 official political and business visits to the city-region underlying China’s continued eagerness and commitment to further strengthening ties with the region. Similarly, a series of senior political and business visit to the Mainland, most notably that of Greater Manchester’s Mayor Andy Burnham to the World Economic Forum in Tianjin in September, have helped to reinforce Manchester’s growing international profile as well as to advance commercial, educational, sporting and political partnerships.

To show Greater Manchester’s continued commitment to China, Manchester China Forum have created a Chinese New Year video bringing together partners from across the city to reflect on their engagement with China over the last year and wish everyone in the region and China a very Happy Chinese New Year!

If you are in Manchester over the weekend and are looking for a way to celebrate the Year of the Pig why not join in on some of Manchester’s celebrations? Full information here.
