The global pandemic has accentuated how rapidly our lives can change but also how quickly we can collectively adapt and re-prioritise our goals to accommodate a new way of living.

Where the Industrial Revolution was born, Greater Manchester is home to an established community of experts who are continually powering innovation. The MIDAS Innovation Virtual Mission draws on its existing and proven R&D infrastructure and expertise and how inward investment and business-led innovation is integral to the city region’s low carbon and health and social care ambitions.

Earlier this year we invited businesses and industry bodies located in the US, Europe and beyond to find out more about Manchester’s world-class science, research and digital capabilities to power their innovations and following its success we would like to continue telling Manchester’s unique story of innovation, this time shining a light on opportunities within the Low Carbon Energy sector and the city region’s ambitious 2038 carbon neutral target.

As leaders leverage devolved powers to ensure Greater Manchester becomes the carbon neutral capital of the UK, with green innovation being driven by over £16 billion of exemplar developments and ambitions, this Low Carbon Energy session will unveil the city-region’s plans to potential inward investors and the huge opportunity for innovation this presents.
