Teltonika invests further in UK market with localised support teams.
A multi-national, family owned tech business which hails from Lithuania has agreed a deal to open its first UK base at flagship office campus Exchange Quay in Manchester. Teltonika, which manufactures IoT (Internet of Things) devices, has been serving the UK market for a number of years and is now set to further invest by launching a new UK operation, serving both the UK and Irish markets through localised support teams.
Teltonika will occupy a fully fitted and furnished, plug and play space within Building 8 at Exchange Quay and aims to recruit a range of roles before the end of the year to serve its UK and Irish customer-base, with plans to increase the headcount year on year. The company employs more than 2,500 people worldwide with offices in more than 28 countries. It specialises in manufacturing industrial networking equipment, telematics devices, telemedicine devices and electric vehicle solutions. It also provides outsourced electronics design and contract manufacturing services, delivered from its factories in Lithuania.
Ciarán Harkin, CEO, Teltonika UK commented;
“We are delighted to officially open our UK base at Exchange Quay in Manchester. This reflects our continued desire to improve our products, strengthen our relationships with local colleagues and support the growth of our clients. I would like to thank all parties involved in making this project happen, with a note of gratitude to MIDAS who has been very supportive in ensuring we found the right place from which to launch our UK business.
“We are an ambitious business with a high desire to grow our presence in the UK and with a localised support function in place, we can respond to requirements quickly and ensure our R&D teams receive the latest in-country trends and insight for product development.
“We can see that Manchester is an ambitious city and it’s impossible not to get caught up in the energy it imbues. We needed a central location with great access links to all major UK cities and we could also see that with the range of educational establishments in the region, talent is thriving in Manchester, so it’s right that we position ourselves here to attract the best people to serve our clients.“Exchange Quay offers us everything we need; a great location, fair financials and the campus provides us with a really good environment for our people to work from. The campus plays to our values of collaboration and teamwork too. In Lithuania, there is an interest in the two Manchester football clubs too of course!”
The company’s move to the UK was supported by Manchester’s Inward Investment agency, MIDAS who were initially approached by the Department for Business and Trade to provide market and property intelligence for Teltonika. The Creative Digital and Tech team worked quickly to meet the brief, including a 2-day visit for Teltonika to view a dozen potential offices. MIDAS has seen an increase in tech companies looking at Greater Manchester, and Salford is proving a destination location to access both creative minds, top talent and great office space.
Joseph Beaden, Head of Inward Investment in Creative, Digtial & Tech at MIDAS said;
“We’re so pleased to welcome Teltonika IoT Group to Greater Manchester as they open their first UK office.
“MIDAS worked with the company, assisting their decision to locate here and to choose Salford’s Exchange Quay as their base and it’s testament to Greater Manchester’s reputation as a leading hub for technology and innovation, talent and global connectivity.
“The investment will not only create jobs for the city-region, but also contribute to the continued growth of our tech sector.”
Paul Dennett, City Mayor of Salford commented:"Teltonika's decision to establish its first UK base here in Salford is a fantastic addition to our thriving tech ecosystem. Exchange Quay offers the connectivity, talent, and collaborative environment that tech companies need to innovate and grow, and we are thrilled to welcome Teltonika to the community. This investment demonstrates Salford’s increasing appeal as a destination for global technology companies, and we look forward to seeing the impact Teltonika will make in supporting local job growth and driving our region’s digital economy forward."
Les Lang, Director, Till AM said:
