The Oldham borough is a thriving network of towns and villages, each with their own individual character. Located just a few miles from Manchester City Centre, almost half of Oldham still sits within the South Pennine countryside or within the Peak District National Park meaning nationally recognized Green Flag parks are in abundance. The extension of the Metrolink through the town centre and borough will provide fast, efficient access to city from countryside and back again.

The borough has a population of 217,000, 40% of which are between 16 and 44 years of age and one fifth under the age of 15. Significant investment in education has meant that every year for the past 25 years a new primary school has been built.

Oldham‘Building Schools for the Future’ is also set to bring a multimillion-pound transformation of Oldham’s secondary schools to provide state-of-the-art facilities. The commitment to further education is also evident with over 1,000 students enrolled on courses across the university town. The Sixth Form College is in the top 10% in the country and has been awarded ‘Beacon’ status.                     

 Home to over 6,000 companies, Oldham has a strong business base.The Borough’s business stock has grown continually since 1996 particularly in the creative, construction, financial and professional sectors.  

The next two years will see over 1.5m sq ft of mixed use commercial space available for development with £118m of private and public sector investment offering an even better place to live, work and bring up a family.
