Fitch Group, a global leader in financial information services, has announced the opening of a new office in Manchester, boosting local investment and career opportunities. The move reinforces the company’s commitment to Manchester as a key UK business hub, fostering long-term economic growth and innovation in the city.

Fitch established its original office in Manchester in 2019 and has significantly increased local personnel since, triggering the move to the larger space at 5 New York Street in the city centre. The move has been facilitated by leading real estate company Bruntwood SciTech, and the new office will house staff from Fitch Group business units, including Fitch RatingsFitch Solutions and Fitch Learning.

“We’ve seen the benefits of investing in Manchester for several years, so are now deepening our roots with a more than 50% increase in our commitment, to £15 million. Our expansion is underpinned by significant investments in talent, infrastructure and local communities,” said Tracey Perini, Chief Financial Officer, Fitch Group. “By strengthening our presence in Manchester, we are reaffirming Fitch Group’s commitment to fuelling economic growth and innovation across the North and contributing to a vibrant, forward-thinking business ecosystem.”

Fitch’s expansion of its presence in one of the UK’s most dynamic business environments strengthens the company’s access to a highly skilled, diverse talent pool. Fitch is actively recruiting senior positions across various disciplines including technology and data, ratings and operations to ensure its Manchester office is equipped with top-tier talent ready to drive growth and deliver exceptional services.

As part of its ongoing investment in Manchester, Fitch Group also recently launched its Elevate programme, which offers a six-month, full-time paid internship starting in February 2026. The programme is designed for recent school and sixth-form graduates seeking a work-based alternative to university, and will provide direct experience, intensive training, one-to-one coaching, and mentorship across Operations, Data Analysis, Research, and Learning Support. Applications closed in November.

“Expanding further in Manchester is more than business growth; it’s a strategic investment in local talent and community excellence. Our team’s expertise and passion have set the foundation for stronger business relationships. We’re excited to build on that by welcoming new talent through accelerated hiring and programmes like Elevate. Together, we are reinforcing Fitch Group’s leadership and commitment as an employer of choice while celebrating our culture of excellence and strong community ties,” said Ian Linnell, President, Fitch Ratings.

Joe Manning, Managing Director at MIDAS, commented: “Fitch Group’s move to a larger office space in Manchester is a significant vote of confidence in the city region’s thriving financial ecosystem and exceptional talent pool. MIDAS is proud to have supported Fitch Group’s growth journey in Manchester, as they increase their commitment by more than 50% to £15 million. The expansion will create high-quality career opportunities across technology and data, and ratings and operations, building on the company’s successful presence since 2019. We look forward to seeing Fitch Group’s continued success and growth in Manchester.”
